BNWDG Good Idea Expediter / Founder

BRAVE New Wares have been my magnificent obsession, since I began to design wild special forest
products in 1991. My first entry was wild furniture, made by my co-owned, two person company that I
named Naturally Bent.  I designed, finished and sold wild furniture made of the lovely Pacific Red Alder
from Capitol Forest, outside Olympia, Washington.  I named the company Naturally Bent because I felt it
describes the attitude of my work and who I am.  I've always made things from the wild, as far back as I can
remember. When I was growing up in Hawaii, we learned to make wreaths and leis in school.  But I can
remember long before, building 'Brownie Furniture', of walnut twigs in our back yard in Tarzana, California.

Naturally Bent went International in its second year. It was jump started for two reasons. First because my
work background was advertising, marketing and outside sales.   But second, I was driven by a relentless
determination to be self-employed since I went missing in 1989.  I was homeless beginning in the
summer of 1989, after being in and out of safe houses, a few states away.  Returning to California, I've
lived 'underground'  for years. It was life altering because my two daughters were with me.
